New beginnings

Hi everyone! Hope you're all well and enjoying your week.
My week has been full of beginnings.
Daughter No 1 began her last week of school on Monday, and Daughter No 2 began her first day of kindy.
Both events caused me to shed a tear or ten on the way home.
Daughter No 1 will do brilliantly in her last year at school. She has done so every year for the past 11 years.  She is extremely smart, motivated, and has a huge future ahead of her.Plus she's kind, and funny and very strikingly beautiful. I have no bias at all here, understand??
I can't believe that she started Year 12, it seems like yesterday I was sobbing as I walked across the oval after taking her to her first day of school.
(Yes, there is a bit of a theme, I'm a terrible sook!!)
Daughter No 2's start to kindy also went well, despite her last minute decision not to attend. She had been so excited, counting down the sleeps until she started, we had been role playing her first day and saying goodbye, she had everything packed, couldn't sleep the night before due to excitement, then 10 minutes before we were due to leave she burst into tears saying "I don't want to go to kindy!!"
But it was all good in the end and she had a great day, and is looking forward to going back next week.

On to the Yarn Along with Small Things, this week I'm reading Denise Mina's newest book Wasp Season. And I love it!!! I can't stop reading it, and would definitely recommend you go and get a copy now!!!
Intriguing, suspenseful, and very character driven. It's the reason this post will be shorter than normal because I want to get back to reading it!!!
Have been reading lots over the holidays, and will try top do a catch up post with all the books I've read in between posts.
Anyhoo, I'm away to make a coffee and settle down with my book.
Wishing you all a wonderful week

  2. I felt a bit sad when taking my littlest boy to afternoon school last week, he's really enjoyed his first week, but I did feel like I was missing an arm or something when I went food shopping while he was in school. I don't think your biased at all, my boys of course are the most handsome lads in all the world!

Love your crochet, as above comment it does look like a big lollipop.
