Thanks Gem for the award!

I love Gem's blog, it often makes me laugh, and she shares my love of the hunt for all things second hand and beautiful.
10 things about me
1. No one in my "real" world knows I blog!
2. I can't read crochet patterns. I know how to do the basic stitches, but I just cannot comprehend patterns. It's like looking at a foreign language to me.
3. I may have "sung" Stan by Eminem once whilst intoxicated at a work function. I do not believe there is any context I can put around that statement, and believe it is important to move on immediately.
4. I used to run half marathons. I have run eight. I have not run any for about 5 years now, however I used to run one a year for a while. I was in an intense competition with my brother who has run over 20. I accept now I will never beat him!
5. I have been married twice, once for 11 years, this time for 4 years.
6. I have 3 children, 17, 15 and 3. They all have their birthdays in November, as do my husband and I. We are exhausted by the time it gets to Christmas!!
7. My husband is a Stay at Home Dad. Initially he took a year off work to stay at home with our youngest, but it has now spiralled out to nearly four years. It's working out well, but I sometimes worry that she is dressed too much in Chuggington, Bob the Builder and assorted superhero outfits!! He does an amazing job. I worry sometimes about his posse of ladyfriends from various playgroups he goes to :)
8. My job is ridiculously stressful, but most of the time I love it.
9. I read like a lunatic. Reading and crochet are my stress relief. I read everywhere. i have been known to read in the shower!
10. My husband is younger than me, which is why one of my staff referred to me as a "coyote"!!! She meant cougar, which really made me laugh. Although I really really hate that term.
So blogs to pass the award on to.

ReplyDeleteWhat job do you do? Intrigued now!!
Lol @ the "coyote" comment!!
I've virtually given up telling "real" people I blog, only my hubby gets it - my Mum, Sis and BIL take the mickey relentlessly!!

Hi! Congrats on your award - well deserved too. And a huge thank you for passing one on to me - you've made my day! I absolutely love how we find our way to different blogs. I'm a bit like you, not many folk in my 'real' life know about my blog. It's nice to find other crochet nuts and bargain hunters!! My husband is a bit younger so I guess I'm a 'coyote' too - hilarious! Have a fab week.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the award- am most chuffed!
ReplyDeleteI loved reading through your list, and being nosey. I think it is so brilliant that you have run all those marathons- It's got my hubby thinking about running again.
Thank you friend.
Thank you so much for my award. i am just so thrilled that you would think of me. No one knows I blog either, I don't even want my husband to read it, I think it is my own private space in a world where I don't get any time to myself. I love your blog and I so appreciate all your kind comments, bloggers are just the best aren't they?
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful day,
Meredith
Thanks for stopping by at my blog. I've never heard of crochet as a stress buster but yes, you are right. That must explain why I crochet an awful lot! x
ReplyDeleteHello! Thank you for visiting me, I'm so glad I've discovered your lovely blog - I'm looking forward to having a good read through it.
ReplyDeleteVery few people in my real life know I blog either, though I am getting braver about it as I go along!

PS - oddly, you're not showing on my blog as being a follower, even though I think you are? Bizarre!
Well done on your award! I came over to say thank you for your kind comment on my blog and it was well timed as I got to learn a bit about you! Love, Amanda xxx
ReplyDeleteHa! Snorted with laughter when I saw batman holding a sign for Gem. Totally random and I love it.
ReplyDeleteI love reading too - I'm so often torn between crochet and reading... my aim is to be able to do both at once!!
