...and this little piggy....

Yesterday was my eldest niece's birthday. She's seven.
For some reason I decided that she must like pigs...... because seriously, who doesn't??

How could you not like pigs?
Luckily, as it turned out my niece did!!

(I have tried and tried to turn this picture the right way around but oddly enough today the computer is just not obeying me!!)

I made this one by just crocheting a normal beanie, then crocheting 2 circles for the ears, sewing them on, crocheting another circle for the snout, and tiny eyes!

Not much of a tutorial, but that's how I did it. And I'm rather pleased with how it turned out.
And it looks crazy cute on.

And because I'm fully in to the whole making things for peoples presents now, I decided that as she likes fairies,
(which is a definite fact, not just hoping on my behalf...as per the pig thing)
that I would make a fairy hat.
However I don't believe that fairies actually wear hats on a regular basis, so it kind of morphed into...maybe.... a gnomes hat?????

Here it is with the matching scarf I made it, which is very snuggly and little girly.
Both look a  lot cuter on!
The hat is really long, and flops down adorably, kind of like a Santa's hat.

So, on to other topics, it is entirely within the realm of possibility that I have lost my mind with this whole making cards malarkey!
It really is.
You be the judge...........................

Is this normal?

So the above picture showcases the Goldilocks book that I found and cut to pieces to make cards.

I have tried and tried to show the whole card, but just can't get the photos right.

Below picture was me branching out from the vintage children's books to an art book I found.
I like these ones just as much.

And here are some more envelopes I made

I honestly have no idea what I will do with them all, but at the moment I'm just having lots of fun making them.
Hope everyone is having a lovely start to the week
x

  2. I've so much to say!!

That pig hat is great! I always seem to copy stuff, I couldn't just make it up. I'm in awe. Clever you.

Hmmm no you don't see many fairies in hats, except maybe Tinkerbell. But I've always felt she is just a little odd as far as fairies go.

Love the cards. You could scan them and then you'll have an ever abundant supply of pics and you get to keep the sweet vintage books. Winner!

You've had a blog change around! Liking the little deer, sweet. I nearly ran three over out side my house last month. Thankfully they managed to speed up and I slowed down...phew!

I've been loving your comments over at mine recently. I do look forward to hearing from you.

  4. I love the cards! Especially the vintage book ones. What a good idea! I like to make cards just to have on hand in case someone had an upcoming birthday and I couldn't get to the store. And besides, I think handmade cards are way more meaningful!

And that piggy hat is AWESOME!!!!
