Happy Family Blanket

I am quite excited as I finally get to do the Ta da thing on this blanket.
I have been working on it for ages, doing a couple of squares each night whilst on the exercise bike, doing my "extreme crochet"
It seemed to take forever. Daughter No 2 absolutely loved this project. Her favourite thing to do was arranging the squares after each was finished. She would painstakingly arrange them, and then call out "Roll up , roll up for the blanket show". It was so cute.

And it was daughter No 2 who named this blanket the "Happy Family Blanket". I love that name, and I think it really suits this blanket, which was so much fun to make.
Even though at times I thought it would never end......................

I tried to hang it over our four poster bed to give an idea of the huge size of it. Each square was about 30 cm each side.

I like this shot as it shows my wall deer.
Who is affectionately referred to as "Bambi's Dad"

I just can't get enough of looking at the squares on this.
Colour-wise I actually wanted to make a blanket that looked happy, so I was delighted when that became its name, as I had clearly succeeded!

I made the circles in the middle of every square yellow, as I wanted to go for the sun look. That's as much colour planning as I did.

Here are the squares in my stash, waiting to be finished

And here are the squares having been arranged by the smallest one, in preparation for the "blanket show"

Today's grateful is an easy one. Today I am grateful 4 having finished the happy family blanket, which will hopefully live up to it's name!!
Hope Easter is great for all
